Welcome.
Thank you for Joining us today!
We hope that you have a great experience with us. Here’s some basic information that you’ll find helpful for today. We’ll begin service right around 10am. First, we’ll all stand and spend 15-20 minutes singing songs in worship to Jesus. Then, one of our leaders will welcome you and have a few announcements to share with everyone about what’s happening in the next couple of weeks. After a brief break for you to refill your coffee or grab a snack, Zach (our lead pastor) or one of our overseers will teach us from the Bible. Lastly, we’ll end the service by giving everyone an opportunity to have someone pray for them if they would like. In total, you can expect the service to last about an hour and fifteen minutes. Once service ends, please feel free to hang out and meet people afterwards. We would definitely like to meet you!
If you’re new here, we’d love it if you’d take a minute to fill out a contact form to let us know that you were here. We just want to thank you for coming and answer any questions that you may have. We promise, we won’t spam you with lots of emails. Click the button below to fill out the form.
Upcoming Events
During announcements you’ll hear us mention events coming up over the next few weeks. Read below for more information or to find the link to register for the event.
Giving
During service we’ll mention that one of the ways we worship God is by giving generously back to him a portion of what he’s given us. If you’re brand new to Ascent please don’t feel any obligation to give. Visit our giving page on the website to see a bit more about what we think about giving and you’ll hear more from time to time on Sundays as we teach from the Bible and as you take the Ascent Series, our introduction to Ascent Church.
HOW TO GIVE
We are currently providing an online giving option as our primary option. We use a service called Tithe.ly. Their online platform is really easy to navigate and to figure out how to give. Use the button below to give using Tithe.ly and see the instructions on the giving page of our website if you would like to create an account and download the app. We also have a couple of boxes at the back of our auditorium that you are able to give using cash or check on Sundays when you’re with us.
Today’s Teaching
The topic of money is one that always pokes at us. Either we are so interested in money we want to think about, talk about, and dream about it all the time. Or, the topic of money is one that is attached to pain due to hardship and struggle. In either case, we often don’t want to hear teaching or correction on how we use, think about, deal with, and handle money. et the topic of money is one that Jesus addressed regularly with those he taught. Consider this series like your annual physical, a check-up on your heart as it relates to money.
Today we’ll be in Luke 18:18-30 looking at the parable of the rich ruler.
Small Groups
Small groups are the life of our church and the key to our growth as individuals. Our hope is that you’ll make friends and have a context to gather with a few others weekly for encouragement and mutual help as you seek to know and follow Jesus. Browse through the groups below and connect with a leader by finding them at church or messaging them about group. Our hope is that you’ll find a small group to connect in shortly after deciding to make Ascent your church home.
We want your children to experience the joy of knowing Jesus. Ascent Kids is a safe and secure place where children are loved and accepted because of who God has made them and is making them to be. And of course, it’s also a place where kids have fun! From newborn babies to 4th grade students, this is a place for your children to come learn about God in a fun and exciting way with other kids. With trusted and trained workers who care about kids, Ascent Kids is the perfect place for your children to learn what it means to follow Jesus while you are attending our Sunday service.
If you are new to Ascent and have kids, swing by the kids area and one of our helpers can give you a chance to check out the kids space, answer any questions you may have, and help you get your kids registered and checked in through our secure check-in system. You will be given a label that has a unique code that’s also on your children’s name tags for that Sunday. We’ll also shoot you a text message if anything is needed during the service. We do everything we can to make this a good and safe experience for everyone.
For 5th graders and up, Ascent Youth is a place where students can enjoy connecting with others their age, while learning from each other and leaders about how to follow Jesus. We strive to make our meetings fun and exciting, but we also make sure to get to real topics from the Bible that challenge and encourage the students in their journey of following Jesus.
Youth are invited to participate in the service for worship and announcements, and then meet with the youth group leaders during the Bible teaching time of the Sunday morning service. Separately, our youth group meets on the first Sunday of the month, from 12pm-2pm, following our Sunday morning service. A time for games and fun followed by a free lunch is provided, then we have a Bible teaching, discussion and prayer.

Learning to Pray for Others
Learning to Pray for Others is a training that we offer a few times a year to help us all become effective at praying for one another. It also serves as a pre-requisite to praying for others as a part of our prayer team.
The training will take place after service on June 12th. Lunch and childcare will be provided for those who register ahead of time. Everyone is invited to come.
