We hope that you have a great experience with us. Here’s some basic information that you’ll find helpful for today. We’ll begin service right around 10am. First, we’ll all stand and spend 15-20 minutes singing songs in worship to Jesus. Then, one of our leaders will welcome you and have a few announcements to share with everyone about what’s happening in the next couple of weeks. After a brief break for you to refill your coffee or grab a snack, Zach (our lead pastor) or one of our overseers will teach us from the Bible. Lastly, we’ll end the service by giving everyone an opportunity to have someone pray for them if they would like. In total, you can expect the service to last about an hour and fifteen minutes. Once service ends, please feel free to hang out and meet people afterwards. We would definitely like to meet you!

Giving

During service we’ll mention that one of the ways we worship God is by giving generously back to him a portion of what he’s given us. If you’re brand new to Ascent please don’t feel any obligation to give. Visit our giving page on the website to see more about what we think about giving.

We are currently providing an online giving option as our primary option. We use a service called Tithe.ly. Their online platform is really easy to navigate and to figure out how to give. Use the button below to give using Tithe.ly and see the instructions on the giving page of our website if you would like to create an account and download the app. We also have a couple of boxes at the back of our auditorium that you are able to give using cash or check on Sundays when you’re with us.

Today’s Teaching

Everyone goes through new, uncertain and challenging seasons in life. For many, the fall is a season where those changes are felt. Unless we are rooted in something (or someone) who is unchanging and stable, we feel the effects of instability and deal with the fear and uncertainty of what’s ahead. In Jesus, we are able to find peace, purpose and life to help us as we navigate these new seasons. Join us Sundays as we teach about being Rooted in Jesus!

Small Groups

Small groups are the life of our church and the key to our growth as individuals. Our hope is that you’ll make friends and have a context to gather with a few others weekly for encouragement and mutual help as you seek to know and follow Jesus. Serving Teams

We believe “everyone gets to play” at Ascent. God’s intention for us is that we would use the natural abilities and spiritual gifts He’s given us to serve others. Serving on a team is helpful for the church to be able to make our Sunday gatherings happen, and take care of the building so it’s presentable and welcoming for guests, as well as a great training grounds for you to be able to learn what your gifts are and how to use them well. Much of our lives ought actually be spent serving others outside of these walls!

There are a variety of teams you can serve on at Ascent. Generally we try to have enough help so we can serve on an every 2-3 week rotation. Here are the current serving teams:

Ascent Kids

We want kids to grow up knowing Jesus and enjoying their time at church. Ascent Kids helpers come early to prepare and be ready to serve newborns through 4th graders as they spend the morning worshiping and learning about Jesus in a fun, age-appropriate way. Serving commitments are in 4 month blocks on an every 3 week rotation.

Coffee Team

We love having hot beverages and donuts for everyone who joins us on Sundays. Those serving with the coffee team arrive early before service to brew coffee, set out donuts and make sure the lobby is presentable and welcoming for everyone. After service there is a brief clean-up. Serving commitments are in 4 month blocks on an every 2-3 week rotation.

Worship Team

We love having skilled and genuine worshipers lead us when we’re together. We know the reality is that not everyone has musical ability, so those that do are encouraged to consider serving with this team. Serving commitments are in 4 month blocks on an every 2 week rotation.

Greeting Team

It can be intimidating coming to church, so to have someone smile at you, hold the door for you and welcome you in makes a big difference! Our greeting team arrives approximately 30 minutes before service and joins everyone in the auditorium about 15 minutes into the service. Serving Commitments are in 4 month blocks on an every 2 week rotation.

Cleaning Team

When you walk into a space that is clean and smells nice, you feel thought about and at ease. That’s what we want everyone to feel when they walk through the doors. Vacuuming, mopping, and dusting are primary responsibilities of this team. Clean can be done whenever you’re available, so if you have a different schedule and availability, this team might be for you! Serving Commitments are in 4 month blocks on an every 2 week rotation.

Facility Upkeep

From mowing the grass and pulling weeds outside, to fixing dings in the drywall and painting walls, this team is for those who enjoy working with their hands and don’t mind getting dirty. This team also is very flexible and can work with your schedule. Serving Commitments are in 4 month blocks on an every 2 week rotation.
